Rossi Norwich Deco Locket
THE STORY:
You know a piece is special when it comes with a custom fitted box—and this diamond enamel locket is certainly no exception!
Thanks to the original case, we know more about this heirloom’s origins and maker: Rossi of Norwich was a design and casting house commonly known for their silver tabletop pieces—with many of their creations have gone through esteemed auction houses in the US and UK.
What makes this locket even more special and interesting, is that we can’t find any online jewelry purchase or sale records under Rossi Norwich—which makes this piece even more rare.
It’s very likely this locket was custom made for a special client—complete with a perfectly fit leather and velvet box to keep it safe when stored away unworn.
From the art deco design, this piece was likely made in the early 1900s. Testing as solid 15k gold, this black enamel locket holds a star-set old rose cut salt and pepper diamond that’s still just as gorgeous today as it was in its Gatsby era days!
THE SPECS:
This locket is not hallmarked but tests at solid 15k gold and features black enameling on the bail, front and back of this locket. A old rose cut salt and pepper diamond is star-set in the front of this design with the original glass panes still intact in the inside.
The locket measures 1.75" in height from the top of the bail to the bottom of the locket and 1.5" in width. This piece was originally made and sourced in England.
The original box custom fit for this gorgeous piece is included with the purchase of the locket. Locket shows lite signs of wear consistent with age and overall is in phenomenal condition. It's obvious this heirloom was safely kept in its box for years while unworn--likely only coming out and being worn on special occasions.
