This one-of-a-kind necklace is composed of:

  • Victorian gold filled watch fob charm and chain from the late 1800s with a floral design and citrine stone set in the bottom. The bottom stone is hand-etched with a Forget Me Not Flower--a common motif in Victorian jewelry.

  • This necklace measures a standard 16” on an antique 14k gold filled chain, with the pendant measuring .5" in width.

THE STORY

For the Victorians, Forget Me Not Flowers were a symbol of true love and devotion--often worn or gifted as a declaration of love. 

Before the 1800s, King Henry IV made this flower a popular symbol: He adopted it as his formal emblem in 1398--by the next year, he had ended his exile and successfully regained his throne in England. This gave the flower the connotations of luck and success (not to mention royalty)--because of this, the flower quickly became a good luck charm.
