Secret Freemanson's Toggle Necklace
This one-of-a-kind necklace is composed of:
-
Victorian Free Mason's sterling and gold watch fob globe pendant and toggle from the late 1800s.
-
This necklace measures a standard 18” on a 14k gold filled chain. The fob drops 2” from the center.
The History of the Freemason's Globe:
This watch fob globe holds a hidden secret - hand engraved symbols representing the Free Mason's different tenants, all engraved on six small pyramids that fold out into the shape of a cross. This watch fob pendant would have likely belonged to a high ranking member in the organization.
In its closed position it looks very much like a "Ballot Ball" that one would use during Masonic voting, however, by an ingenious arrangement of hinges, which are imperceptible from the exterior, it may be opened out into the form of a cross. Each section is pyramidical in shape with a spherical base.
