This one-of-a-kind necklace is composed of:

  • Georgian, sterling silver dress pin with floral details that hold paste diamonds from the 1700s. This piece was originally made and sourced in England.

  • This pendant measures 1.75" in height and 1.5" in width, and hangs from a modern 30” gold filled chain.

THE HISTORY:

French paste is a jewelry term used to describe the practice of using faceted cut glass, cut in the shape of a real gemstone, instead of using real gems. This process, which was developed in the 1700's, created the look of a sparkling gemstone or diamond but cost much less than real stones.
