THE HISTORY
Love Token charms reached their height in popularity during the late 1800s through the early 1900s in Europe and the States. Taking a dime piece or any kind of coin currency, one or both sides would be filed down to a smooth surface for an engraver to to hand-engrave a name, initials, date to remember, or special image to represent a moment in time. Couples or individuals would often have these made at big events or fairs. These little charms would often be collected in one charm bracelet, worn on a watch fob chain, or simply worn as a single pendant.
